The growth of Mobile Music Lab programming and the HEALTHY CHOICES project is now a full-time pursuit!
CHEF & DISTINGUISHED CULINARY ARTS EDUCATOR TIMOTHY WITCHER was proudly born, raised, and chef–groomed in Southern New Jersey. He has been married to his high school sweetheart for 20 years, and they are the parents of three wonderful kids. His family motivates him to not only create, but to strive for excellence while always setting the bar higher for himself, his students and those he serves. Chef Witcher was inspired by his grandfather who overcame great obstacles, and with little formal education, was able to work his way up to become Head Chef in a restaurant in Albany, NY.
Inspiration from his grandfather’s achievement lead Tim to become a culinary educator for the past 20 years. Chef Witcher has had the opportunity and pleasure to teach, mold, and inspire a generation of young culinarians-turned-chefs around the country, and around the world. Teaching for 10 years in Burlington County, at the Burlington County Institute of technology and an additional 10 years at Camden County technical schools in Camden county, Chef has learned that community engagement is key for the success of students, parents and businesses alike.
Chef Witcher continues to have the unique opportunity to teach and work with students, families and communities of various ethnic backgrounds, social statuses, and economic disparities. These variables inspired Chef to create a curriculum that took food and education through social and emotional learning (SEL) techniques that would level the playing field for all people no matter the background, situation or limitations on there current environment.
Chef Witcher won-over TV audiences as an underdog high school teacher, appearing on The Food Network, and winning two acclaimed cooking competitions, “Chopped” and “Rewrapped.” This national recognition allowed Chef to launch his fast-casual food concept, “The Wing Kitchen,” which received national and local awards, including “Best Wings New Jersey by the national food blog, “Eat This Not That.” Chef Witcher has been featured on Fox 29, 6 ABC, PHL17, and CBS3.
Witcher’s innovative concepts have resulted in strong demand for bringing his creativity and expertise to food stalls in Clementon Park and Splash World, and Subaru Park Stadium – the home of the Philadelphia Union – as well as Beaver Stadium at Penn State University, and Lincoln Financial Field, the home of the Philadelphia Eagles.
