MATTHEW WOODSON is an educator, performer, and performing arts entrepreneur who serves as one of the principal group music-making program designers for the Mobile Music Lab.
When he was just 4 years old, his dad asked him why he liked playing the drums. Matthew responded, “Because it feels good.” Matthew has been playing the drums ever since.
As the Director of Community Percussion for the Lancaster, PA-based non-profit organization “Music for Everyone,” Matt empowers people to pursue music in a manner that opens their hearts, teaches them people skills, breaks down barriers to strengthen unity and provides a place where they feel safe to grow.
He instructs students and facilitates group drumming events/programs throughout the region. He is also an active performer with Big Boy Brass, along with his steel pan project “Woodson Steel Experience,” and a number of regional production companies.
