KATE SOCHA enters her 16th year as a music teacher, with tours of duty in middle schools and high schools in both NJ and CT.

Kate is currently celebrating her ninth year of teaching band, orchestra, music theory and AP Music Theory at Hamden (CT) HS, where she is all the assistant marching band director and drill designer.

A founding member of the New London, CT-based 7th Regiment Drum Corps, Kate served as the corps’ first drum major, a role she also held for six seasons with the Connecticut Hurricanes & also with NJ’s Fusion Core for three seasons.

Kate holds both a Bachelor of Arts in Music & a Bachelor of Science in Education from the UConn, along with a Master of Music in Music Education degree from the Univ. of Florida. She is currently working toward a Sixth-Year Certification in Educational Leadership and a CT certification in Administration at Quinnipiac University.
